Kindergarten Program

Kindergarten

The Kindergarten Program at Keystone Child Development Center is a one- to two-year program designed to fit the individual needs of each student. A low student-to-teacher ratio fosters personal relationships between teachers and students necessary for identifying strengths and weakness and individualizing teaching, as appropriate. In addition to a strong academic foundation, our program focuses on the continued development of language and social skills to promote ongoing success.

A student admitted into the Kindergarten Program may be enrolled for the one- or two-year track (K1 and K2, respectively). Participation in a particular track will be considered with parent collaboration either upon enrollment or within the first month of the school year. The K2 track offers a modified kindergarten curriculum that is more age- and developmentally-appropriate for some students who may need more time to prepare for the high social and academic expectations of first grade and years to come. Though the K2 track is designed to be a two-year program to best prepare our students for a smooth transition into first grade, the opportunity to transfer into the K1 track may be considered upon mid-year review of progress and development.
