As each child leaves for the day, a staff member provides verbal and written information regarding progress or concerns to his/her family member.

Toileting: Mastery of toilet training skills takes place in this classroom. Children work on related skills such as undressing and dressing, independent hand washing, turning on and off the bathroom light, flushing the toilet, etc.

Meals: Children eat breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack with staff members and friends at the group meal table, helping with food preparation and clean-up.  Age-appropriate skills, such as pouring a drink from a large container into a cup, opening and closing food containers, cutting food with a plastic knife, distributing plates and napkins to friends and cleaning up after meals are addressed during these times.

Literacy and math groups: Students alternate between having math group in the morning and literacy group in the afternoon.

Social skills: Our social skills curriculum is embedded throughout the school day and across all activities, including meals, play and lesson times. Children work on age-appropriate social skills including good manners, personal responsibility, collaboration, compromise, making decisions, being flexible, persistence, appreciating differences in others and much more.
